Great Wall Motor Technical Center, which has been proved as Technical Center of National Acclaim, including Technology Institute, Dies Tooling Center and Engineering Institute, etc., is responsible for the independent innovation activities like products planning, products development, technical support as well as R&D management. It has an R&D team of about 3,000 members including over 500 of experts and executives in various fields from both domestic and overseas, and at the same time, it has directly and closely cooperated with famous design Companies and engineering Company at home and abroad. At present, Technical Center has become the independent-development base of Great Wall Motor. GWM now has the self-owned technique, standard and independent intellectual property rights in every links including engine, gear box, whole-vehicle sculpt, whole-vehicle geometric design, CAE, test, and etc.
To ensure developing the products smoothly and manufacturing high P&P elegant products with technical innovation, Great Wall Motor invested huge sum of money on the construction of Test Center, Trial-Manufacture Center, Dies Tooling Center, Training Center and Information System, thus making the technical center of Great Wall Motor possess the nationally advanced automobile R&D system.
Testing Center
More than one hundred million RMB has been invested in this center. At the moment, it can carry out performance test, reliability test, vibration test, fatigue test, destructiveness test, environmental simulation test, and other special performance tests for the whole vehicle, the chassis, engine, spare parts, electric appliance on the vehicle, metal material and non-metal material products, etc. The center can joint in the international cooperation and technology communication about experimental technology of vehicle.

Styling Department
Styling Department has two model-making platforms, one revolving platform for reviewing models, domestic advanced double-cantilevers three-coordinate measuring machine, FARO flexible three-coordinate measuring machine & Kreon laser scan system and ATOS three-dimensional optics digital apparatus. It is also responsible for the final drawing, clay modeling, testing and scanning, Alias modeling, etc.
Simulation Center
The center was founded with RMB 15 million yuan investments for CAD/CAE/CAM analysis of whole vehicle engineering and production. Equipped with 40 units IBM computers installed in parallel, this special machine room can make various CAE analysis and calculation for whole vehicle crash, intensity and stiffness of the structure, NVH mode, whole vehicle aerodynamics and handling & stability simulation, etc. It has pretreatment/post-treatment analysis software like ABAQUS, HyperMesh, Nastran, VPG, LS-DANA, Star-CD and ADAMS etc.
Dies Tooling Center
Great Wall invested RMB 200 million yuan on the whole vehicle model R&D center covering an area of 20000 m2. Now the center has 22 units of imported numerical control process equipment, 7 units of debugging equipments, 120 units of graphic-process stations and model process and design professional software such as UG, CATIA, DELCAM, CIMATRON, DYNAFORM, etc. It has the capability of mould building, pressing process analysis, mould design, mould making, digital control process, mould assembly and debugging.
